Jesse Lingard has had a good pre-season with Manchester United.

Manchester United are considering selling Jesse Lingard in January amidst contract uncertainty

According to SunSportJesse Lingard could be sold by Manchester United in January if a new contract cannot be agreed between the two parties over the next three months.

The 28-year-old is in the final year of his current deal at the club, and speculation is rife regarding his future at the club. Lingard is said to be interested in staying at Old Trafford and has also been offered a sizeable salary of £135,000-per-week but the attacker wants assurances over his game-time.

Since the start of this season, the Englishman has only managed 6 games across all competitions. While featuring in 6 out of 10 games is not the end of the world, most of his appearances have been off the bench as he has racked up less than 150 minutes of football.

Although opportunities will be provided to the winger in the UEFA Champions League and the other Cup competitions, there might be a lot of game-time as they have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup.

Moreover, Lingard has performed whenever he has been called upon, thereby making a strong case to start every time he steps onto the pitch.

However, if a new deal cannot be agreed between the two parties before the end of 2021, United are said to be willing to let go of him in January for a cut-price fee of £15million

The Red Devils had valued him at around £25million earlier this summer, but while a move never materialized, they are not interested in letting the player leave on a free transfer next summer.

With West Ham, Leicester City and other clubs interested in signing the 28-year-old, it remains to be seen where the English international will be playing his football in 2022.
