Marcus Rashford reveals he is excited to play with Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo as he nears a return from injury
Speaking in an interview (h/t Metro), Marcus Rashford has claimed that he would be pleased to be playing alongside Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo soon as he looks to recover from his injury.
The 23-year-old was playing through the pain last season for his boyhood club as he led them to the UEFA Europa League final. However, after the Euros with England this summer, it was decided that Rashford would undergo shoulder surgery.
Nearing a full return to action now, it would be the Englishman’s first chance to feature alongside the club’s summer signings, including a legend in Cristiano Ronaldo. Probably too young when the Portuguese was plying his trade under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, Rashford has now revealed that it would be dream come true to play with the 36-year-old.
The English international told reporters in an interview (h/t Metro):
‘That’s a great feeling for me, as a player, but also as a fan of the club as well. It’s always nice when a club legend finds a way back to the club. To be playing with him (Ronaldo) back at Old Trafford is a terrific feeling and hopefully gives us a push to start winning more trophies.’
The 23-year-old also provided an update on his fitness.
‘Last year was a very long season for me, I got this injury at the end of September, and gradually it got that little bit worse, but now I’m fully free of that, I feel much better physically and mentally.’
