Liverpool join Manchester United in the pursuit of Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele
According to TEAMtalk (h/t The Sun), Ousmane Dembele has to make a decision on his Barcelona future soon amidst interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been joined by bitter rivals Liverpool to secure the signature of the French winger.
The Anfield outfit is said to be on the lookout for a forward as they look to add to the frontline that already contains the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, and Diogo Jota.
Jurgen Klopp lost Xherdan Shaqiri from his frontline this summer, and the club are yet to replace him. Although Watford’s Ismaila Sarr was targeted previously by the Reds, the German boss is said to be a fan of Dembele.
However, this is bad news for United, who are also in the pursuit of his signature. The Red Devils want to add to the quality in their squad despite having the likes of Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Edinson Cavani in their squad.
But given that both Lingard and Cavani could exit the club on the expiry of their contracts next summer, reinforcements may be needed. Moreover, a deal for the Barcelona winger could be done on the cheap.

The Blaugrana are yet to agree on a contract extension with the 24-year-old as he would be available on a free transfer next summer. The Spanish outfit are asking the player to take a pay cut in his current £200,000-per-week wages if he wishes to sign a new deal.
Thus, United will be looking to pounce on the situation, but it remains to be seen whether Dembele is ready to snub Liverpool and Barcelona to join the Old Trafford outfit next summer.
