Fabrizio Romano reveals Manchester United star Luke Shaw set to join Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes to seal new contract
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are set to offer a new contract to Luke Shaw after completing deals for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
The Red Devils made clever moves for the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer as it heavily strengthened their squad. However, building a squad also implies keeping your best players at the club and to build upon that success.
The Old Trafford outfit have certainly realized that and have prioritized a contract extension for Bruno Fernandes, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Express). The Portuguese playmaker has been sensational since he made the move to Manchester and is apparently close to agreeing to a deal worth £250,000-per-week.
While John Murtough is prioritizing a deal for Fernandes, he is not the only influential player to receive a new contract. The Manchester-based club are ready to secure the future of club captain Harry Maguire as well and are said to have informed him that they are set to offer him a bumper deal.
Another name has now been added to the list in the form of Luke Shaw. The full-back has been one of the key reasons for United’s success in the last two years, and his rejuvenated form is proving to be a lethal threat going forward as well as at the back. Thus, the club are now set to reward his good performances.
