Donny van de Beek one of four names Barcelona are targeting in January
According to Spanish publication Sport (h/t The Express), Manchester United ace Donny van de Beek is one of the four targets on the transfer list of Barcelona in January.
The Blaugrana suffered through financial cut-backs this summer, and it got to a point where they had to let of club legend Lionel Messi. The Nou Camp outfit raked in free agents like Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay, while Luke de Jong was also brought in from Sevilla.
However, after suffering a tumultuous start to the season, Barcelona President Joan Laporta and co are ready to back Ronald Koeman by bringing in players in January. One of the four names on their list amongst the midfield targets is United fringe star, Donny van de Beek.
The Dutch international has suffered for minutes ever since he made the move to Old Trafford last summer. The 24-year-old managed just under 1500 minutes across all competitions last season and is yet to start a Premier League game this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only providing the midfielder with the off-the-bench cameos.
A deadline day move to Everton was on the cards but was apparently blocked by his Norwegian boss. Thus, Barcelona will try to recruit his services in January as Koeman looks to reunite with his fellow countryman.
While those are the Catalonia club’s intentions, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are open to letting one of their midfielders leave the club mid-season.

Squad depth is an essential element in any title-winning team–something Solskjaer has experienced himself as he was part of some pretty brilliant squads under Sir Alex Ferguson back in the day.
Thus, only time will tell if United are open to Barcelona signing their Dutch star in January, who are also targeting the likes of Franck Kessie, Tanguy Ndombele, and Marcelo Brozovic.
