Manchester United fans react as Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba make it to the UEFA Nations League final with France

As per the official Twitter account of Manchester United, Anthony MartialPaul Pogba, and Raphael Varane made it to the final of the UEFA Nations League after France beat Belgium 3-2 in the semi-final.

In what was perhaps one of the greatest second-half come-backs in international games in recent times, France proved their quality on the day. Les Bleus displayed a poor first-half performance, and Belgium took full advantage of it.

United stars Pogba and Varane started the game while Anthony Martial was named on the bench. Although the Men in Blue looked defensively resolute, they invited the pressure in the first half and their bitter rivals opened the scoring with a Yannick Carrasco shot that left Hugo Lloris wrong-footed due to Jules Kounde’s deflection.

The second goal was a sumptuous finish by Romelu Lukaku after he beat Lloris at the near post. However, Didier Deschamps’ men turned up the heat in the second half. Pogba started to press more in the midfield while Varane anchored the defence.

The first goal came after Karim Benzema turned in the box before scoring under pressure from 4 Belgian defenders. A few minutes later, Antoine Griezmann won a penalty, which Kylian Mbappe converted from the spot. However, Les Bleus saved the best for last.

Lucas Hernandez sealed the victory in the 90th minute with a thumping effort from the edge of the box. Although the headline was stolen by the goal-scorers, United’s stars deserve equal mention as they not only neutralized the Belgian attack in the second half but also dictated play.
