Manchester United ready to get Paul Pogba to sign a new contract by Christmas

According to The Sun (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United are ready to get Paul Pogba to put pen to paper on a mega-contract by the end of 2022.

The 28-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and speculation over his future has been rife. The French international has, however, been extremely professional about his situation and has performed well on the pitch for the Red Devils this season.

Pogba has so far featured in 9 games for the club this season and has already contributed to 7 assists. Thus, the midfielder’s involvement in the game has been key, and the Old Trafford outfit would do well to keep him at the club beyond this season.

In fact, it is also said that United chiefs are ‘increasingly confident’ of the fact that the Frenchman will put pen to paper on a new contract soon while they have also set a Christmas deadline for the same.

The club are in continuous talks with the player’s agent Mino Raiola and will be hoping to agree a new deal by the end of the year.

A mega-deal worth £400,000-per-week is also said to be on the table for Pogba, which is a huge improvement on his wages as United plan on retaining their best players and building upon their sound investment this summer.

If a deal is not agreed between all the parties concerned, the midfielder will be allowed to enter into talks with foreign clubs in January itself. Thus, it is pivotal that an extension is agreed within the next three months as Real Madrid, PSG, and Juventus are circling around for the 28-year-old’s signature.
