Liverpool ahead of Manchester United in the pursuit of Kacper Kozlowski
According to The Mirror (h/t Sports Mole), Liverpool are ahead in the race to sign Manchester United target Kacper Kozlowski.
The Polish sensation was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer. Given that the likes of Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani could depart the club on a free transfer at the end of this season, bringing in reinforcements would be a good idea.
At 17, Kozlowski has already made his way into the senior team of Ekstraklasa outfit Pogon Szczecin. A youth academy product of the club, the youngster scored one goal and provided three assists in 20 league games for the first team last season.
Thus, there is a lot of talent to be exploited and the Red Devils have always attracted the best youngsters to their academy or their first team. However, they may now lose ground in this transfer saga as Liverpool are readying a move for the Pole.
Jurgen Klopp & co. made a single summer addition to their ranks this summer as they only brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig. Even though Xherdan Shaqiri left the Anfield outfit to join Olympique Lyon, no additions were made in the frontline.
However, Kozlowski might now be an effort in that direction. While the Reds will make their move for the 17-year-old, it would definitely hurt the aspirations of Manchester United, who might not want to lose out on the youngster, especially to an arch-rival.

Strengthening a title rival for the future or the present might not be considered a good move and could come back to bite the Manchester-based club. Thus, while Liverpool are leading the race, it remains to be seen whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. rekindle their interest in the player and hijack the deal.
