Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still eager to bring Erling Haaland to Old Trafford
According to The Express (h/t The Sun), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still keen on orchestrating a move for Erling Haaland next summer.
The Red Devils have been interested in bringing the Norwegian to the theatre of dreams and might certainly get a chance to do so as his £64million release clause is apparently active now.
Earlier this summer, several clubs were interested in negotiating a move for the striker but Dortmund’s £150million valuation of the former Salzburg man warded off most parties in the market for the player.
However, that has not deterred the Old Trafford outfit from eyeing a deal for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former Molde pupil. Although the Manchester-based club did add the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho to their ranks this summer, Haaland will only boost the quality in United’s ranks.
Moreover, the Red Devils are also apparently convinced that a strike partnership between the 21-year-old and Ronaldo will work and given that both strikers have started this season in good form, one would not count against either player losing a step next season.
Moreover, given the fact that the Portuguese striker will turn 37 next year and Edinson Cavani will be out of contract next summer, the Norwegian forward could be the answer for the Old Trafford club through the middle in the long term.

Haaland has been incredible for Dortmund in the last year and a half as he has now scored 68 goals in 67 appearances for the German outfit, with his latest double strike coming against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
United will, however, have to fight tooth and nail for the 21-year-old as the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and PSG are also ‘lining’ up a move for the forward. Thus, with interest from several clubs, the Manchester-based club will be hoping to convince the youngster to reunite with Solskjaer again next summer.
