Youri Tielemans hints at being open to Leicester exit amid Man United interest
According to Sky Sports News (h/t Mirror), Youri Tielemans is keeping all of his options open amidst keen interest from Manchester United.
The 24-year-old midfielder was awarded the club’s Player of the Year award last season. He has started every minute of the new Premier League campaign for Leicester City.
The Foxes are keen to tie Tielemans down to the club. They are willing to offer him a new deal despite two years remaining on his contract. In conversation with Sky Sports News (h/t Mirror), he remarked about his future with the club, hinting that he would be open to an exit.
“There’s no update really. I’m open to everything. The transfer market has just closed, but I want to keep as many options as I can open. As long as I’m here I will give everything for the club. I’ve already done so, but I will do so even more. The contract situation is just something that is going on in football, it’s a normal situation.”
Tielemans plays an important role in Brendan Roger’s side. He has been essential to their progress so far. His creative exploits have helped the club in important matches.
The Belgium midfielder’s most important goal for Leicester City has to be his strike against Chelsea in the FA Cup last season. His solitary goal saw the Foxes lift the coveted trophy.
His performances have made top clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United, keenly interested in securing his services. The Merseyside team would like to get him as a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who left the club to join PSG.
