Manchester United vs Aston Villa rescheduled to a 12.30 BST kick-off on September 25

As confirmed by the club’s official site, the English Premier League clash between Manchester United and Aston Villa on September 25 has been brought forward by a few hours.

The Red Devils welcome the Villians to Old Trafford in what should be a straightforward yet tricky clash. Dean Smith’s side have brought in a number of players this summer. However, that came at the cost of them losing their charismatic skipper Jack Grealish to Manchester City.

The match was originally scheduled to take place at 15:00 BST on September 25. The game has now been brought forward after a request from the Trafford Council Safety Advisory Group.

According to the report, the decision was made taking into account the Courteeners concert that will be held at Lancashire Cricket Club, Emirates Old Trafford, on the same day. It was also endorsed by the Greater Manchester Police who are keen to avoid significant crowd, traffic and operational setbacks.

Villa have proven themselves to be tricky opponents should they be allowed to play to their strengths. They will be keen to build upon their 11th placed finish last season.

United won the corresponding fixture 2-1 last season, thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes. Hopefully, it will be more of the same this time around.

United did the double over Villa last season.

While the decision to move the match forward is understandable, it will not make life easier for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils face off against West Ham United in the League Cup on the 23rd, handing them less time now to recover.

With a big squad now at his disposal, the Norwegian should be able to get through it without too many problems.
