Transfer News: 15-year-old Harrison Parker completes the switch from Arsenal to Manchester United
According to the latest transfer news on the Twitter account of Rising Ballers, Harrison Parker will sign for Manchester United this season after he left arch-rivals Arsenal earlier this summer.
This would be good news for the Old Trafford outfit, who have always been known to give youngsters a chance at the club.
Since the days of Alex Ferguson, the promotion of youth into the senior team has been incredible. The legendary manager promoted the famous ‘Class of 92‘ into the senior team, which included the likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and several others.
United’s current manager in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played under Ferguson alongside the ‘Class of 92’ and understood the value of promoting youth into the first-team setup. In the 2019/20 season, Solskjaer handed debuts to 8 academy graduates– a record only previously matched by Sir Matt Busby 67 years ago.
Moreover, it has not just been about debuts. Slowly but steadily, Solskjaer has introduced a lot of youth into the first-team set up on a more regular basis. Mason Greenwood is now a starter at the club, while the likes of Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe have also featured a lot for the Old Trafford outfit over the last two years.
Teden Mengi and Anthony Elanga were also a major part of the Red Devils’ pre-season campaign this year. Thus, it is nothing but a happy occasion that the Manchester-based club’s scouting department is inculcating more youth into the setup.

Harrison Parker is also said to be one of the best defenders in his age group, while he also had all the big clubs in England chasing his signature. United are certainly planning for the future as all of their current centre-backs are above the age of 26.
Hence, it will not be a surprise if Parker is handed a debut by Solskjaer himself in a couple of years.
