Cristiano Ronaldo facing five-day isolation before joining Manchester United training
According to RTP (h/t SportWitness), Cristiano Ronaldo will have to undergo a five-day isolation period before he is allowed to join Manchester United first-team training.
The 36-year-old, who sealed a return back to Old Trafford on deadline day, could return back from international break sooner than expected.
The Portuguese had jetted off for international duty after completing his transfer as he had games lined up against Ireland & Azerbaijan with a friendly against Qatar also scheduled in between the two aforementioned games.
However, the centre-forward, who broke Ali Daei’s record of most international goals (109) against Ireland, took off shirt to celebrate his second goal, which proved to be the winner. He was later booked by the referee for doing so, courtesy of which he is not eligible to feature against Azerbaijan.
Since then, the 36-year-old has been released by Portuguese head coach Fernando Santos, and Ronaldo can now return earlier than expected to Manchester. However, he will not be allowed to join first-team training immediately.
The Portuguese will have to stay in isolation for nearly five days before he is allowed to join the closed doors training sessions of the club, as per official information from the Old Trafford side via RTP (h/t Sport Witness).

This would be a small blow for Solskjaer, who would have been waiting to include the forward immediately into the club’s training sessions. The 36-year-old might also not have a presentation in front of the Old Trafford fans before the Newcastle United game on the 11th of September.
However, if Ronaldo is completely fit by then, he could feature on the bench if not a place in the starting lineup as most United fans would be hoping that centre-forward can start on the day.
