Paul Pogba could depart Manchester United on a free transfer as Spanish giants plot move

According to Marca via Sport Witness (h/t Football 365), Real Madrid are planning on signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United next summer as one of three blockbuster signings.

The 28-year-old has been in sublime form for the Red Devils since the start of the season as he has provided 5 assists in 3 Premier League games for the Old Trafford outfit.

However, he may not last long at the club. The midfielder is in the final year of his contract and has previously refused a contract extension at the club. The Manchester-based club, who signed the Frenchman in 2016 for a club-record move of £93.2million, are now facing the prospect of losing their star man on a free transfer.

European heavyweight Real Madrid are considering making a move for the 28-year-old next summer as part of their three signings of their rebuild project.

Alongside Kylian Mbappe & Erling Haaland, Pogba has also been identified as a ‘possible addition’ by the Spanish outfit, according to Marca via Sport Witness (h/t Football365).

However, it won’t be as easy for Madrid to get their hands on the talented midfielder as Juventus are also seeking a reunion with the Frenchman, according to TuttoSport (h/t Football365). Moreover, PSG have also been touted as another destination, as they failed in their efforts to sign the 28-year-old this summer.

Thus, a number of clubs are circling around to sign the United man, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be too keen on letting his star man leave. The Old Trafford outfit have added handsomely to their squad this summer in the form of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane & Cristiano Ronaldo.

If Pogba does decide to leave, it would put the club short of one quality player in their midfield line, something Solskjaer would be looking to avoid as he hopes to compete for the biggest titles in the coming years.
