According to the club’s official site, Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his return to Manchester United as the summer transfer window draws to a close.

The 36-year-old returns to Old Trafford 12 years after leaving the club to join Real Madrid. He has since developed into one of the greatest players to ever play the sport. While his stint at Juventus may not have been his best, Ronaldo still has it in him to perform at the highest level.

Now back in a familiar surrounding with fans who adore him, he could be set for a fairytale swansong to his long and illustrious career. Ronaldo admits that the Red Devils have always had a special place in his heart and has been left overwhelmed by messages welcoming him back.

The Portuguese sensation is keen to get back onto the Old Trafford pitch in front of an adoring sea of red. He will get the opportunity when the Red Devils welcome Newcastle United to the Theatre of Dreams on 11 September.

“I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again.”

Currently, with the Portuguese setup, Ronaldo will arrive in Manchester once the international break is over. He is keen to get started and is hopeful of experiencing a successful season.
