Transfer News: Manchester United ‘intent’ on Saul Niguez move this summer
According to Marca, via Sport Witness (h/t The Faithful MUFC), Manchester United are keen on orchestrating a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The 26-year-old is said to be on the move and is ready to leave the Spanish capital. The Red Devils, in turn, are interested in procuring the player’s services.
The Old Trafford, who already have an incredible bunch of midfielders in their ranks, namely, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Fred, Scott McTominay, and Nemanja Matic, might lose some of them before the end of the transfer window.
Paul Pogba is touted for a move to Paris Saint Germain if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid, while Donny van de Beek is ‘expected‘ to depart the club. This could create a problem for the Manchester-based side, who are keen on competing on all fronts this season.
Saul could be a perfect option for the Red Devils as can play anywhere across the midfield while he also has a lot of experience of playing in big games. The Spaniard also played an integral role in Atletico Madrid winning the La Liga last season as he made 33 league appearances and contributed to 3 goals from midfield in the process.
However, United are not too keen on coughing up £42.7million for the 26-year-old this summer as they would much rather prefer a loan deal with an option to buy, as previously stated by Sport (h/t The Faithful MUFC).

The Red Devils will also face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, who are also eyeing a similar deal for the Spaniard.
With less than a week to go until the transfer window closes, United will have to move fast if they hope to see Saul in their ranks after the 31st of August.
