Manchester United still stand chance to make late move for Eduardo Camavinga

According to The Athletic (h/t The Express), there is a theory that could lead to Manchester United selling Jesse Lingard before the end of the month and try to sign Eduardo Camavinga

The Red Devils, who have wrapped up the signings of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, could now turn their focus towards signing a midfielder.

Although the club already possess the likes of Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, and Fred in their ranks, they would be keen on adding another player to the squad to bolster the midfield with quality.

Eduardo Camavinga is unlikely to stay at Rennes and could sign for United

Camavinga, who is in the final year of his contract at Rennes, has been allowed to leave the club if a reasonable offer does come in for the young Frenchman. The Old Trafford outfit could make a late move for the player if they can sell the exit-linked Jesse Lingard, who could join West Ham this week, according to The Athletic (h/t The Express).

Camavinga has been repeatedly linked with United this summer, and given that Paul Pogba is in the final year of his contract, it would not be a bad idea to bring in some cover.

Moreover, the 18-year-old can provide a more youthful approach to the Manchester-based side and can do so for a long time to come, given his age and talent.

However, he has not been the only midfielder on the radar of the Red Devils, as the club have also been interested in Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, Wolves’ Ruben Neves, West Ham’s Declan Rice, Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni, and Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka over the summer.

Although none of the players have joined United yet, the club will have to make a concerted effort in the coming days if they hope to add a midfielder to their ranks before deadline day.
