Transfer News: PSG might orchestrate a move for Manchester United ace Paul Pogba if Kylian Mbappe leaves

According to ESPN (h/t sportslens), Manchester United could still face the prospect of losing Paul Pogba to Paris Saint Germain this summer.

The 28-year-old Frenchman has had an uncertain future all summer and was also close to joining the French giants earlier in the transfer window. However, United did not see eye to eye with Paris Saint Germain on the valuation of the player, courtesy of which a move did not materialize.

Moreover, given that PSG prioritized the signing of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, a move seemed out of the cards.

The French club were said to be interested in making a concerted effort for Pogba next summer as the player would be available on a free transfer, given that he is in the final year of his contract and has refused a contract extension at Old Trafford. Real Madrid also seemed to be interested in signing the 28-year-old on a next-to-nothing fee next year.

However, things seem to have a taken a turn now with the Spanish club focusing on signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG with an offer worth €160million also on the table, according to ESPN (h/t sportslens).

To that end, if Mbappe does make a move to the Spanish capital, the Parisians could rekindle their interest in Pogba, with a late move on the cards.

This would not bode well with United, especially after the Frenchman has started the season by providing 5 assists in 2 games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be hoping to keep the midfielder at the club at least this summer, if not the next one.

However, a lot could happen in a week and it remains to be seen where the 28-year-old will play his football at the end of the transfer window.
