Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United for Real Madrid next summer
According to the Daily Cannon, Real Madrid are ready to sign Paul Pogba on a free transfer from Manchester United next summer.
Madrid, who recently sold Martin Odegaard to Arsenal for £31.5million (plus bonuses), now have the required funds to sign the Frenchman from Real Madrid, according to ABC (h/t Daily Cannon). However, the Spanish giants will make their move for the 28-year-old next summer as he would be available on a free transfer.
Pogba, whose future has been uncertain at the club all summer, is in the final year of his contract. Moreover, the Frenchman has also refused a contract extension at the club while he was also close to leaving the Old Trafford outfit for Paris Saint Germain this summer.
However, the French giants prioritized the signing of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi this summer. Although that was the case, PSG still have their eye on the French midfielder and, like Real Madrid, are keen on signing him on a free transfer.
Madrid, on the other hand, will be using the money from the sale of Martin Odegaard to pay for the Frenchman’s wages and his signing-on fee as they look to make the 28-year-old a ‘quiet replacement’ for Luka Modric.
United, who have not been too keen on letting their player leave this summer, will be trying to tie down the French international to a new contract.

Pogba has been pivotal for the Red Devils since the start of the season as he snapped up four assists during the season opener against Leeds United, while he also set up the equalizer for Mason Greenwood in the club’s 1-1 draw against Southampton on Sunday.
United will be hoping to convince the player to sign a new contract before January itself, otherwise, the player will be able to negotiate a pre-contract with foreign clubs in the winter transfer window, which would all but seal his exit from Old Trafford.
