Transfer News: Manchester United among clubs scouting Noni Madueke
According to transfer news from the Daily Mail (h/t The Sport Review), Manchester United are among a host of clubs that sent scouts to watch PSV Eindhoven forward Noni Madueke in action.
PSV faced off against Portuguese giants SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers earlier in the week at Estadio da Luz. And, it is now being claimed that Manchester United had scouts present in the game in order to watch the young forward in action.
Apart from Manchester United, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City also had scouts monitoring the 19-year-old, who is also a subject of transfer interest from European giants like Bayern Munich, Juventus, AS Roma and Atalanta.
Madueke started out his footballing journey at the academy of Crystal Palace before switching to Tottenham’s youth setup in 2014. The young forward spent four years with the Lilywhites before moving to PSV’s youth team in 2018, where he has made rapid progress. The report claims that the 19-year-old turned down United before joining PSV.
Madueke made his senior debut for the Dutch side last year and has since gone on to feature 44 times in which he has scored 15 goals and set up nine more. The 19-year-old has been in red-hot form in the new season, bagging six goals and one assist in just eight games in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
While he has primarily been used as a right-winger this term, Madueke, who is an England Under-21 international, can play through the middle or out on the left flank as well. Pace, goals, dynamism, versatility, it is not hard to imagine why a number of top clubs are scouting him.
