Transfer News: Manchester United are interested in Kylian Mbappe
According to ESPN, Manchester United are interested in making a move for French wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.
The Red Devils have enjoyed a brilliant summer that has been them land both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. The club is not ready to rest on their laurels and is plotting moves for next year’s summer window.
One of the players in the fray is Mbappe and landing him could send shockwaves across the footballing world. Considered by many as one of the finest players of his generation, the Frenchman is already amongst the top players at the tender age of 22.
Edinson Cavani penned a one year deal that will see him stay on at Old Trafford until next summer. Bringing in another young centre-forward should then become a priority once he sees his deal out, and Mbappe appears to be among those in the fray.
He is in the final year of his contract and could be brought in for a free next summer. Such a move could prove to be one for the ages. Competition for the player will, however, be high with both Real Madrid and Liverpool amongst his long time admirers.
The player does not appear to be keen to move to England and would rather switch to the Santiago Bernabeu. Real have had a largely quiet summer this time around. Any financial constraints notwithstanding, it would appear they are saving themselves for Mbappe.
Whether that is truly the case remains to be seen.
Mbappe is but just one of the players on United’s radar. Other strikers also on the club’s watch list includes Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Haaland, Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez and Tottenham Hotspur hero, Harry Kane.
