Transfer News: Harry Kane could be a prime target for Manchester United next year
According to transfer news from TransfermarketWeb, Manchester United could go on to sign Harry Kane next summer, should he stay at Spurs this year.
Harry Kane, who has been inching to move to Manchester City this summer, has remained at Spurs as the club have also named him in the Europa Conference League squad. Daniel Levy is understood to not change his mind on the future of Kane unless a £150million offer is made for the centre-forward.
The Red Devils, who have already signed Jadon Sancho for £73million from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane for £34million from Real Madrid, have exhausted a lot of their funds already this summer. Thus, another big-money move does not seem to be on the cards.
However, the Old Trafford-based outfit could launch a move for the English international next summer. Kane, whose contract expires in 2024, will have only two years remaining on his contract and could be available for a relatively cheaper fee than £150million next summer.
Moreover, this also benefits United as their current centre-forward in Edinson Cavani will be out of contract by the end of next season. However, should he stay at Spurs beyond this month, Real Madrid and Manchester City will also be interested in the player next year, keeping United company in the race to sign the centre-forward.
However, if United do have an exciting season this year, their project might seem more appealing to Kane, and his decision could be influenced. While there are a lot of factors at play here and the Red Devils’ need an out-and-out centre-forward could intensify next summer.
