Manchester United are not keen on Aurelien Tchouameni and Corentin Tolisso
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are not holding talks with Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni or Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso.
Tchouameni, 22, was linked with the Red Devils this summer as the club eyed the player as a direct solution to their defensive midfield problems.
Corentin Tolisso, on the other hand, was linked with the club after his price tag was slashed to a mere £8.5million while the Manchester-based club were also trying to bolster their midfield by adding the Frenchman to their ranks.
However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has rubbished these rumours and cleared up United’s intent on both players. The whole tweet read:
“Manchester United are currently not working to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni from AS Monaco this summer. No talks or direct contacts as of now, same for Corentin Tolisso. #MUFC”
The Red Devils have been keen on adding another midfielder to their squad, and given the uncertain future of Paul Pogba, it clearly makes sense. The French international has been continuously linked with a move away from the club this summer with PSG interested in signing the 28-year-old.

Moreover, the player has also entered into the final year of his contract, and there is a possibility that he could leave on a free transfer next summer. Such a situation would certainly warrant United to find an able replacement beforehand.
While the club may have dropped their interest in Tchouameni and Tolisso, they are still linked with the likes of Leon Goretzka, Saul Niguez, and Eduardo Camavinga – all able midfield options, but it remains to be seen if the club do end up signing anybody before the end of the month.
