Raphael Varane excited at finally being unveiled as a Manchester United player
Manchester United fans finally got their first glimpse of Raphael Varane holding up the club’s jersey ahead of the premier league opener against Leeds United.
The surprise announcement was a masterstroke by the club as it got the supporters going ahead of kick-off. The excitement only built up higher after the Red Devils put up a solid performance that saw them romp him to a 5-1 win.
Watching on from the stands, Varane will be itching to join the action soon and is visibly excited at joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s outfit. According to the club’s official site, he has now sent a message to United fans, his first since joining the club.
“Hi everyone, I’m very excited to be here.”
The Frenchman went on to thank the fans for the wonderful reception he received at the Theatre of Dreams yesterday. He now appears keen to endear himself even more and is itching to make his first-team debut soon.
“Thanks for the atmosphere at Old Trafford – thank you very much. I’m very happy to be here and I’m ready to work hard.”
A serial winner, Varane is already preparing himself for the debut and has hit the ground running at Carrington. There is every chance that he will make his debut against Southampton next Sunday. Hopefully, he will generate more cheers at St Mary’s this time for his on-field performance.
One of the game’s most illustrious defenders, Varane brings with him a decade’s worth of experience in winning silverware. This winning mentality will hopefully rub off on those around him as the club looks to end their four-year wait for a trophy.
Alongside skipper Harry Maguire, the Frenchman could create one of the best defensive pairings in not just the Premier League but also Europe. Add to it his work ethic and Untied fans have a lot to be excited about this season.
