Transfer News: FC Basel and Crystal Palace amongst clubs after Manchester United winger Amad Diallo
According to Calciomercato journalist Matteo Moretto (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Amad Diallo is ‘expected to leave’ Manchester United on loan, with Crystal Palace interested.
FC Basel, who currently lead the Swiss Super League after three league games this season, are stated as another potential suitor, as the tweet also mentions unnamed Bundesliga and Premier League clubs in the race.
“Amad Diallo is expected to leave Manchester United on loan this summer. FC Basel and Crystal Palace have been asking for Amad on loan until 2022. #MUFC@MatteMoretto Also Bundesliga & other Premier League clubs in the race. No decision has been made yet.”
And that only goes to show Diallo’s demand in the market. The 19-year-old joined the Red Devils amidst much hype this January, as the club dished out £37million to sign him.
Loan move for Amad?
He even made his senior debut for the club last season, as he went on to make seven appearances for the first-team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. A winger by trade, his position in the team can be threatened this season.
Jadon Sancho has arrived from Borussia Dortmund in a blockbuster move, while Mason Greenwood has also played down the right-hand side. The club also has Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial that can take up the left flank in attack.
Amidst this, Diallo’s best chance for regular starts would be away from Old Trafford, at least for this season. It would be a wise move for him to join a Premier League side so he can adjust to the league’s style and pace.
