Darren Bent urges Manchester United to sign Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi
Speaking on TalkSPORT (h/t Soccernet), Darren Bent showered Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, with praise and said that he would be a hit at Manchester United.
Leicester City signed the Nigerian midfielder from KRC Genk in the winter transfer window of 2017. Since then, he has impressed in the Foxes’ midfield and has filled in the spot left by N’Golo Kante to a great extent.
Still just 24, the Lagos-born defensive midfielder has a long way to go in his career and his peak is arguably yet to arrive. With 176 appearances already for Leicester, he has amassed a bucketload of experience in England.
When required, the former Nath Boys midfielder has also been slotted in at centre-back for Brendan Rodgers. The destroyer is certainly an asset to have for any team, including Man United.
Ndidi at MUFC is a tasty prospect
That is the view of Bent, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa striker, who explained all the qualities that make Ndidi so special, and how can be a great fit for the Red Devils.
“In terms of the holding midfield role, I think he can get into pretty much any team in the Premier League. I think he can easily play in any club in the Premier League in terms of the holding role. Imagine he went to Manchester United. In the holding role, and then you’ve got Pogba and Fernandes. For me, he is brilliant. He covers the back four well, he’s good in possession, and when he has to, he makes some sneaky fouls.”
While there is nothing to suggest that United have recently approached Leicester for Ndidi or intend on doing so in the near future, this is one potential signing that would add heaps of quality and solidity to United’s midfield.

Nemanja Matic isn’t the quickest and Paul Pogba’s future is still undecided. With the French midfielder now in the last year of his contract, a player like Ndidi can be a good potential successor- granted United ever end up making an approach for him.
