Bruno Fernandes has tipped Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga to have a first-team role in the future

During an interview with the club’s official media (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bruno Fernandes has tipped 19-year-old Anthony Elanga to shine for Manchester United in the future.

The Portuguese international, who just returned to first-team training with Manchester United ahead of their game against Everton on Saturday has talked about the club’s youngsters with great excitement.

Elanga penned fresh terms earlier this year

And, Fernandes talked about Anthony Elanga in a little more depth. Talking to the official club media (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Portuguese playmaker said:

“(Anthony) Elanga was already playing with us, and this pre-season he has been brilliant. Since last season when he came to the first team, he has been training really hard and, as I said, being very, very humble. The way he trains and treats the people is really important to be part of the first team, and that’s why he’s deserving of every chance he gets and every performance he has put in.”

Elanga is one of the stars of United’s pre-season, with the youngster having featured against all three oppositions, including scoring against Championship side Queens Park Rangers and newly promoted Brentford. However, the player did not travel with the United squad to their pre-season training camp at St. Andrews in Scotland due to a minor injury.

Anthony Elanga could be at Manchester United this season instead of going out on loan.

Apart from his minor injury, the Swede is also attracting a lot of interest in the final month of the transfer window which has left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a big decision to make regarding the player’s future.

Solskjaer’s main focus, however, will be on United’s clash against Everton on Saturday at Old Trafford ahead of their 2021/22 Premier League season opener against Leeds United on the 14th of August.
