Manchester United superstar Bruno Fernandes ready to get the ball rolling for 2021/22
According to the club’s official site, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has admitted that he is ready to fire on all cylinders in the upcoming 2020/21 season.
The Portuguese international is coming off a disappointing few months that saw him fall short with United in the Europa League final and Portugal at the Euros. He is, however, in good spirits and is looking forward to the upcoming campaign with renewed optimism.
Now back in training, he has his eyes set on our final pre-season game against Everton at the weekend. He is happy to be back among his teammates and appears excited to begin a new adventure. With a year and a half at Old Trafford under his belt, he is now one of the best players in the league.
“Yes, I’m fresh and happy to be back, seeing my team-mates again, training again, it’s always a good thing.”
Given the hectic nature of the game, since he joined United, Fernandes was given a well deserved month off this summer. One cannot begrudge him that Fernandes played 71 games between 19 June 2020 and Portugal’s exit to Belgium in Seville 373 days later.
“It was a long time, I think five years maybe since my last full break.”
Back to business for Bruno
Having had a breather, it is back to business for the midfielder. A serial winner, the player has reflected upon the preparation the squad are making ahead of the new season. One wouldn’t bet against Fernandes giving it his all when the season kicks off against Leeds United on August 14.
“The lads are ready. We have been training hard, everyone is training really well and everyone will be ready for the beginning of the season.”
Fernandes was United’s top scorer and assist getter last season. While he did tail off towards the end of the season, it was to be expected given his intensity and work rate. While he did well to contribute to our progress, it just wasn’t enough to get us over the line.
Hopefully, this season will be different and both the club and the player will go on to enjoy a memorable campaign.

Fernandes cut short his holiday to train with former club Boavista last month. It will hold him in good stead when he takes to the field later this month. If anything, it shows his drive and passion to ensure the club go on to achieve bigger and better things in the months to come.
