Declan Rice has returned to West Ham United training amidst Manchester United links
According to the Telegraph (h/t The Express), Manchester United transfer target Declan Rice has made no demands to leave West Ham United this summer.
Rice, who made 32 Premier League appearances for West Ham last season, was also a consistent figure in the midfield line for England at the Euros as he helped his side reach the final of the tournament.
The 22-year-old has returned to West Ham’s pre-season training despite being linked with Manchester United and rivals Chelsea all summer.
Albeit an integral part of West Ham last season, Rice has refused two offers for contract extensions by the Hammers, something that has fuelled a lot of speculation about his future. However, according to the Telegraph (h/t The Express), the Englishman is relaxed about his future and is ready to play for the East London outfit again this season.
With West Ham having set an asking price of £100million for the central midfielder, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United or Chelsea break the bank to sign the player.
However, United would be aware that Rice’s valuation will only decrease if he fails to sign a new deal with West Ham, which in turn, could add more suitors for the midfielder.
Manchester United already have the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, and Donny van de Beek in the squad, but are looking to add more quality into their ranks. A proper central defensive midfielder like Rice could also give United the right balance in the midfield.
Apart from Rice, the Red Devils have also been linked with Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga, Wolves’ Ruben Neves, and Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka. However, it remains to be seen who the club sign this summer.
