Andreas Pereira provides honest opinion on future as he delivers ultimatum to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Andreas Pereira has demanded more game time and certainty over his future from Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, according to an interview done by the Brazilian (h/t The Express).
Pereira, who signed for the club as a 15-year-old, never booked a place in United’s starting line-up, courtesy of which the Brazilian spent three different loan spells at Granada, Valencia, and Lazio, with Pereira playing a crucial role for the latter last season.
However, the midfielder has been part of United’s pre-season games this season and the 25-year-old showed his quality when he scored a beautiful goal against Brentford the other day.
In the interview done by Pereira (h/t The Express), he expressed how he wants to play more often regardless of which club he is at.
“In Manchester or elsewhere, the time has come to play, to have at least an hour per game on the field, to have the confidence to play.
“I want to be happy, to feel important. I’ve played everywhere on the field and I’ve always done my best.
“He [Solskjaer] has known me for many years and knows very well where I can do more. It’s up to him to give me the freedom to play in my position.
“I’m ready to play, I’m not a boy anymore. I’m a man ready to take responsibility.”
The player was also quizzed about his sensational volley against Brentford and although he talked about it, Pereira mentioned his need to play more games again.
Thus, it remains to be seen whether Andreas Pereira, who has attracted interest from Lazio and Fenerbahce, will remain at the club beyond the summer.
