Transfer News: Manchester United get boost in chase for Saul Niguez
According to transfer news from Mirror, Manchester United have a boost in their chase for Saul Niguez. The Atletico Madrid midfielder has a gentleman’s agreement with the club that will allow him to leave this season.
One of the brightest talents in Spain, Saul has come a long way since his developmental years. Over the last few years, he has established himself as an important cog of Diego Simeone’s machinery at Atletico. However, despite Atletico lifting the La Liga title last season, Saul did not play a very big part in that.
The 26-year-old Spaniard is said to be wanting a move away from the capital city. There is considerable interest in Saul, mostly from the Premier League. Interest from Barcelona has cooled down as a swap deal between Saul and Griezmann was doing the rounds.
Now, United have received a boost in their efforts to land the Spanish star. Saul is said to have a gentleman’s agreement with Atletico that will allow him to leave the club if a suitable offer is received. However, Atletico will demand a sizable fee given that he still has five years on his current deal. It must be noted that United are yet to make an offer for him.
