Transfer News: Facundo Pellistri to return to Deportivo Alaves on loan
According to transfer news from Sport Witness, Facundo Pellistri will likely return to Deportivo Alaves on loan. Both the player and the club are keen on a reunion and it will all depend on Manchester United, who are having second thoughts on sending him on another loan spell.
The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves. He was signed by the club last summer but after the arrival of Amad Diallo in January, he was sent on loan to the La Liga side. It was decided that Pellistri would benefit from some first-team football after mostly playing for the U-23s during the initial months.
The South American made 12 appearances for Alaves as they narrowly avoided relegation. While he did not manage to get a goal or assist, his overall performance was satisfactory. Back at United now, Pellistri has been handed a chance to impress in the pre-season.
A goal to cap off his cameo against Derby County means that he has impressed those at the club. Nonetheless, Alaves remain keen on bringing him back for another loan and the player also wants the same. It now rests on United as they will have to work out a deal.

Pellistri is very unlikely to get a crack at regular football if he stays at United this season. It’s optimistic to hope that he can prove that wrong, however, there are other factors to consider. United recently signed Jadon Sancho and the attack is pretty much set. There are far too many wingers in the side for Pellistri to compete with at this point and United would be better served if they allowed him to return to Alaves on loan.
