Talented 17-year-old academy prospect signs first professional deal with Manchester United

Alejandro Garnacho signs first professional deal with Manchester United

According to MEN, Alejandro Garnacho has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United. The striker enjoyed a prolific first season at the club for the U-18s and has been rewarded with a professional deal with the club.

The 17-year-old came through the ranks at Atletico and currently plays for the club’s Under-18 side. The winger had attracted attention from a number of Europe’s big teams but United won the race to land him. A fee of £419,000 was paid.

Alongside Garnacho, United also signed Alvaro Fernandes and Marc Jurado last season. Garnacho went on to enjoy a splendid spell at United, scoring seven goals and registering three more assists in 17 appearances. He also capped it off with a hat-trick against Stoke City.

His good form has not gone unnoticed as United handed him a professional contract with the club. The 17-year-old was happy with the new deal and took to social media to express it.

“Proud day for me and my family, thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this moment.”

United have done some good work on their U-18’s side. Garnacho’s new contract was accompanied by the signing of Ethan Ennis from Liverpool. Nonetheless, it could be a while before these two go on to make a mark for the first team.
