Manchester United could miss out on Saul Niguez as rivals make contact
According to transfer news from Mirror, Manchester United are running the risk of losing out on Saul Niguez as Liverpool and Chelsea are said to be in contact with the Atletico Madrid player’s representatives over a transfer.
One of the brightest talents in Spain, Saul has come a long way since his developmental years. Over the last few years, he has established himself as an important cog of Diego Simeone’s machinery at Atletico. However, despite Atleti lifting the La Liga title last season, Saul did not play a very big part in that.
The 26-year-old Spaniard is said to be wanting a move away from the capital city. There is considerable interest in Saul, mostly from the Premier League. Liverpool want him as a replacement for Wijnaldum. Chelsea want him to mount a title charge for next season.
United are said to be keeping an eye on him in case Paul Pogba does end up leaving the club. While Old Trafford seems to be the most likely destination, our rivals have already established contact with Saul’s camp over a transfer. United could be running the risk of missing out as Atleti are still said to be waiting for a €50m offer from United.
