Transfer News: Manchester United to hand James Garner a new deal before loaning him out

According to transfer news from Football League World, Manchester United will extend the deal of James Garner before sending him out on loan. Nottingham Forest and Swansea are interested in bringing the player on loan.

The 20-year-old was loaned to Watford last summer. He had a brilliant start to life in the Championship as he played in all but one of their opening 19 league games. However, a managerial change meant that Garner found it hard to get minutes at Vicarage Road.

Hence, the loan deal was terminated midway through the season. Garner then went to two-time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest on loan for the remainder of the season. Currently, he is back from his loan spell as his future is being evaluated.

Garner featured in both of United’s preseason games so far. Nonetheless, there is the feeling that he will be allowed to leave on loan. However, United will first extend his contract which ends in 2022. Swansea and Nottingham Forest are keen on bringing the youngster on loan. Rangers, Norwich and Brighton have also shown interest.

As bold as it would be to hand Garner first-team opportunities, he would be better off heading out on loan. While United ideally want a Premier League side to take Garner on loan, sending him to any of the Championship sides might not be a bad idea. He is likely to get more game time in the Championship which will prepare him well for the future.
