Transfer News: Manchester United enter the race for Piotr Zielinski
According to transfer news from SportWitness, Manchester United have entered the race to sign Piotr Zielinski. United are believed to have made contact with the player’s representatives over a move. Manchester City and Liverpool are also understood to be interested in the Polish playmaker.
Zielinski started his career with Zaglebie Lubin in his homeland before moving to Italy with Udinese in 2012. The midfielder’s rise to prominence at Empoli paved the way for a switch to Napoli in 2016 and Zielinski has established himself as a key player for the Naples club over the past five years.
United need to add some quality names to their midfield contingent. They suffered a lot towards the end of the season when Bruno Fernandes looked fatigued. None of the other midfielders stepped up apart from Paul Pogba, meaning that the addition of a new central player is necessary.
Manchester City were understood to be after Zielinski. However, United have now entered the fray. They have made contact with the player’s entourage but so far no offers have arrived from any of the clubs. Liverpool are also keen on the Napoli man. He has a contract with the club till 2024.

The 27-year-old may not essentially be an exciting prospect but he can be a good addition to the Red Devils either way. However, it is hard to judge the level of interest United have in the player at this point. Hence, this can be something to keep an eye on.
