Transfer News: AC Milan preparing new offer for Diogo Dalot
According to transfer news from SempreMilan, AC Milan have not given up on signing Diogo Dalot. The Italian giants are hoping to go in with a new offer and coax Manchester United into a sale. A loan-to-buy deal is likely to be on the cards but Manchester United want to review the purchase option after the loan.
The 22-year-old Portuguese full-back spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at the San Siro, playing a part in Milan’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League. While he may not have been an automatic first choice, he made 33 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring twice and providing three assists.
Dalot’s impressive form led to a call-up to the Portugal side for the Euros. While he didn’t really feature in the initial stages, he did go on to play in two of the more important games against France and Belgium. Currently, Dalot is back at United and will link up when he returns from his post-Euros holiday.
Milan want to bring back the talented full-back from United and are putting together a better package. The deal would be an initial loan with an option to buy. A loan fee demand of €4-5m is expected from United but they will take the final call over a sale. Dalot is also keen on returning to the San Siro.

Dalot’s contract runs until 2023 but the chances of him making it at United appear rather slim. He is unlikely to displace Aaron Wan-Bissaka but he does have talent. Letting him go might look like a mistake but if United are not intent on using him, he might as well be sold.
