Manchester United star Luke Shaw played with broken ribs in the last three games of the Euros
According to the Metro, Manchester United and England star, Luke Shaw played the last three games of the Euros with broken ribs. He sustained the injury in the Round of 16 clash against Germany. However, he powered through the pain to provide some scintillating performances for the Three Lions.
The 25-year-old just capped off his best season in a red shirt. It took a lot of work and some competition from Alex Telles to produce the best in him. Shaw was clearly among the standout performers in the Premier League and was recalled into the England side on the basis of those performances.
Shaw was not used in the first game but post that, he featured in all of England’s games right till the finals. Despite England losing the Euro 2020 final, Shaw can take heart from the fact that he played his part to perfection. He gave his team the lead within two minutes in England’s first major final in over half a century.
It has now been revealed that Shaw played through broken ribs in the last three games of the tournament. It was against Germany that he got injured but played through the pain. United are a bit concerned due to that and want to assess the issue as soon as they can. Shaw will very likely miss the whole of the preseason and maybe the opening game against Leeds as well.

It was definitely courageous of Shaw to play through the injury but now United are left with a headache. Given the form he was in, any sort of lengthy layoff will hamper Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans. While United do have Telles to cover, they will miss the services of Shaw.
