Transfer News: Donny van de Beek wants to remain at Manchester United
According to transfer news from MEN, Donny van de Beek has decided to remain at Manchester United. The Dutch midfielder who did not have the best of first seasons at the club was being eyed by clubs from Italy, Spain and Germany. However, sources close to him have expressed that the player is now raring to make his mark at United.
The 24-year-old was United’s marquee signing last summer and arrived at Old Trafford after a successful spell at Ajax Amsterdam. Much was expected from his arrival. However, it fizzled out all too soon with the one opening day goal in the Premier League against Crystal Palace being the major standout moment.
After that, it was a familiar sight to see Van de Beek warming the benches on most matchdays. On the rare occasions that he did feature, there were moments of quality. But it was also evident that he was not in sync with the squad which only happens on playing regularly. A late-season injury barred him from participating in the Euros as well.
Van de Beek to remain at United
All that led to speculation over his future as sides from Spain, Italy and Germany wanted to take him off United’s hands. However, the Ajax protege has decided to buckle down and fight for his place in the club. He is said to be “fit, fresh and ready for the challenge” as claimed by close sources. The added rest of one month has also helped him to recover from his groin injury.
