Manchester United manager Solskjaer wants Facundo Pellistri to head out on loan
According to the Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Manchester United starlet Facundo Pellistri to go on loan. The Norwegian was impressed with his performance against Derby County in the friendly and pointed towards another loan spell for him. Although, the youngster has expressed his desire to remain at the club.
The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves. He was signed by the club last summer but after the arrival of Amad Diallo in January, he was sent on loan to the La Liga side. It was decided that Pellistri would benefit from some first-team football after mostly playing for the U-23s during the initial months.
The South American made 12 appearances for Alaves as they narrowly avoided relegation. While he did not manage to get a goal or assist, his overall performance was satisfactory. Back at United now, Pellistri was handed a chance to impress against Derby County.
Solskjaer feels that a loan deal will be the best for Pellistri
Capping it off with his first goal, Pellistri looked really solid in the 45 minutes he was handed. While Solskjaer was raving about the Uruguayan starlet, he expects him to go out on loan.
“He was bright when he came on. I think he showed what he is because he’s a difficult player to play against. One against one he can go past people so very pleased with him. I can see a loan deal for him, there’s been loads of interest and for his best interests a loan would be what we look for.”
However, Pellistri wants to remain at United and fight for his place.
“As you said, I went on loan to Alaves, I felt good, now I’m here trying my best and always pushing forward to be the best. I would like to stay here but I’m still working hard, improving and will continue working. There is a lot of young talent, all the guys want to improve, the training is really hard and I’m very happy with that because young guys are trying their best and looking for a place in the first team.”

Pellistri is very unlikely to get a crack at regular football if he stays at United next season. United recently signed Jadon Sancho and the attack is pretty much set. Heading out on loan might just be the best-case scenario for him.
