Solskjaer could use Wan-Bissaka in a new role if Trippier is signed
According to Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could use Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a new role if Kieran Trippier is signed. The Norwegian could try to fit Wan-Bissaka into a back three as a centre-back and deploy Trippier as a wing-back.
In the two seasons Wan-Bissaka has been at the club, he has shown that there is no better defensive right-back in the league. His tackling in one-on-one situations is something to behold as he has troubled so many wingers during his stay at the club.
However, the downside to such defensive prowess is that he leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to attacking. Modern full-backs are known for their attacking prowess but United can hardly do that with Wan-Bissaka from the right. That is why United are after Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.
Solskjaer plans to tweak the formation a bit and use Wan-Bissaka as a centre-back in a back three while allowing Trippier to move forward in a wing-back role. That would use both players’ best abilities to the maximum effect.

It’s not entirely a bad idea to try the tactic provided United can get their hands on Trippier. Wan-Bissaka is clearly better suited in his own half while Trippier is known for bombing forward at the drop of a hat. Solskjaer would be tempted to combine these two things.
