Transfer News: Manchester United make contact with Kalidou Koulibaly
According to transfer news from Daily Star, Manchester United have made contact over a move for Kalidou Koulibaly. The Napoli defender wants some clarity over his future at the club, which has seen some speculation arise. The Red Devils are believed to have made contact with Koulibaly’s agent.
The 30-year-old Senegalese star was once one of the best defenders in the world. However, recent seasons have seen him fall off that radar a bit given how Napoli have performed during that time. Despite that, interest in him remains high.
Napoli now have a new manager at the helm. Luciano Spalletti has taken over from Gennaro Gattuso but that has led to Koulibaly questioning his future at the club. The Senegalese could well force Napoli into a sale over the summer.
Now, Manchester United seem to have taken an interest in the big defender as they look to add defensive reinforcements. The club have already made contact with the defender’s agent Fali Ramadani. However, Manchester City and Liverpool are likely to follow suit.

Koulibaly would certainly improve our defence but will turn 30 this June. He is unlikely to be a long-term option and has so far failed to show his best this season. There is still quality in the player but United should rethink their stance on this move.
