Transfer News: Manchester United want £50m for Paul Pogba

According to transfer news from Mirror, Manchester United have slapped a £50m price tag on Paul Pogba. PSG are said to be after the Frenchman and could try to make bids for him over the next few weeks.

If United needed a reminder as to why they have to keep their prized asset, France’s games against Germany and Switzerland in the Euros are proof. They might have been eliminated early but Pogba displayed some tremendous skill with the ball that left everyone awestruck.

Pogba to leave United this summer?

United, of course, have not been helped by the fact that he has just a year left on his deal. It is imperative that United agree to a contract extension over the summer. Else, they risk losing him for free next summer.

There’s a growing feeling Pogba will eventually be leaving United. PSG are expected to test the waters for Pogba this summer. United would obviously not want to lose the World Cup winner on a free transfer next year. Hence, they are preparing for a summer exit. They have valued him at £50m, a little more than half of the record fee they shelled out on him five years ago.

For now, Pogba is on holiday after a hectic year. However, United will be hoping that they can get their star man to commit to a long-term deal when he returns. Given the form he is in, it would be a real shame if they had to sell him or worse, lose him for free.
