Manchester United is the only English club for Jules Kounde
According to Spanish publication Marca (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United have been renewed hope in their efforts to land Jules Kounde.
The 22-year-old is one of the finest young centre-backs in Europe and has impressed at Sevilla over the last two years. A regular for the La Liga side, his performances have turned a number of heads across Europe.
Kounde is ready to make a leap in his career and move on to a bigger stage. United could help him do just that. It would appear that United are the only English side who are capable of convincing him and have already contacted Sevilla about the player.
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles had revealed that United have held informal talks regarding Kounde. He went on to add that Sevilla had also rebuffed a €45m offer for the player.
As things stand, it would take over €60m for Sevilla to even negotiate a transfer. The player has also attracted attention from Real Madrid and Chelsea. As a rising star, he could go on to play a major role for any of the clubs in the upcoming decade.
The Red Devils are keen to bring in a defender and have identified Rap[hael Varane as a priority. Kounde however remains on the radar and attention could be turned to him should the move for the Real ace fails.
Kounde was Sevilla’s club-record signing, having joined from Bordeaux in 2019. It is fair to say that the Spaniards sure got their money’s worth. He appears to have achieved all that he can at the club and could do with a new challenge. Whether that will be at United remains to be seen.

The Red Devils are familiar with Kounde, having faced him in the Europa League semifinal in 2020. He put up a good showing and appears to have left an impression. A member of the French squad at the Euros, he could very well emerge as one of the best defenders in the years to come.
