Manchester United set £51million asking price for Paul Pogba
According to L’Equipe (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United have placed a £51million asking price for French international midfielder Paul Pogba.
The 28-year-old is one of the best players in the world and on his day a bonafide match-winner. While he has more often than not blown cold rather than hot for United, the performances improved since the turn of the year.
However, he has less than a year to go on his current deal and could be set to move this summer. United for their part are not keen to lose him for free and could cash in this summer if a suitable offer is made.
United are currently locked in contract extension talks with Pogba. With France no more involved in the Euros, the time is nearing for both the club and the player to make their decision.
Paris Saint-Germain appear to be ready to meet United’s asking price and have made it their priority to sign the Frenchman. Landing Pogba will cap off an excellent summer for the French giants, who relinquished their league crown last season. They have since signed the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Pogba too appears to be ready to make the switch to the Parc des Princes. European giants Juventus and Real Madrid are also keen but lack the finances to make their move. It would appear that PSG have a clear road to land the player this summer.
Interestingly, Pogba was pictured in the leaked images that appeared to show United’s new home kit release. Whether it could offer a hint as to Pogba’s intentions remains to be seen. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

The Red Devils’ record signing, selling Pogba this summer for the aforementioned price will see United take a massive hit on their investment. But with his contract winding down, we have to make the best of a bad situation. Hopefully, the money will be reinvested to secure a replacement such as Eduardo Camavinga.
The 18-year-old is also in the final year of his contract and could be available for a knockdown price. It could be a case of one French midfielder out and another one in at Old Trafford this summer.
