Manchester United handed a blow in their pursuit of Harry Kane
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane as Tottenham are set to reject all offers for him this summer.
The English ace is enjoying a good Euros with the Three Lions and could lead them to glory this Sunday. He scored the winner in last night’s semifinal against Denmark. That makes it four goals in three knockout games for the Spurs star.
The 27-year-old is one of the Premier League’s top players and a consistent scorer. In fact, he is one of the few elite strikers in world football.
Kane has already made clear his ambition to move elsewhere this summer. Tottenham are set for another rebuild under Nuno Espirito Santo and it is debatable if they can win silverware in the next couple of years. Having given a number of years to the club, it is understandable why Kane is keen to move on.
Kane is contracted to Spurs until 2024 and collected the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker award last season. The length left on his deal gives Daniel Levy enough leeway in negotiations.
Manchester City are also interested in the player and had a bid rejected earlier this summer. While the reports of such an event occurring are debatable, there is little doubt that it will cost a fortune to land the Spurs ace.
Tottenham failed to qualify for the Champions League for a second season running. A failure to secure qualification again would leave the club with little choice but to cash in on Kane. As things stand, they may have enough ammo to keep their star man for another season.
His stock will only rise if he managed to lead England to a win over Italy this Sunday. There is every chance that Tottenham could still demand a huge price for him if they are forced to sell next summer.

With Edinson Cavani extending his contract, United have a reliable senior striker to call on if needed. Moreover, with Jadon Sancho’s arrival, Mason Greenwood too could be deployed as a striker. Signing Kane will not only be difficult but also financially heavy. Whether that is something we are looking to pursue this summer remains to be seen.
