Tottenham Hotspur to challenge Manchester United for Max Aarons
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their interest in Manchester United target Max Aarons, who is emerging as a star for Norwich City.
The North Londoners had shown interest in the 21-year-old earlier, only for the links to since go cold. With the future of Serge Surier now unclear, Daniel Levy could revisit their interest in the Norwich man.
Spurs are also eyeing Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey. However, the Seagulls’ £50m asking price could prove too much. In comparison, Aarons will set them back a relatively modest £30m.
The North Londoners now join United and Everton as the dies keeping a keen eye on the Canaries star. The Red Devils still view Kieran Trippier as their priority but could turn to Aarons if a move for the Atletico Madrid man turns unfeasible.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young full-backs in England. He played a key role for the Canaries, who have been promoted to the Premier League for next season. Aarons already has Premier League experience, having been part of the Norwich side that got relegated in 2019/20
A move to United will be a step up for Aarons in comparison to both Tottenham and Everton. Both clubs are yet to bring in a new manager and are at differing levels of disarray. Moving to Old Trafford could however limit his game time.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the first-choice right-back at the club and Aarons will most likely serve as his understudy.

While Aarons is not yet on Trippier’s level, the latter does have the advantage of a decade’s experience over the youngster. If he continues to progress as expected, the former should overtake the latter eventually.
