Manchester United are set to make Jadon Sancho one of their best-paid players

According to the Sunday People (h/t The Express), Jadon Sancho could be set to arrive at Manchester United this summer as one of their top-earning stars.

United are closing in on completing a deal for the 21-year-old after submitting an improved bid of £77million to Borussia Dortmund. While an agreement has not been reached, there appears to be more initiative shown in our pursuit this time around.

Dortmund are seeking £85m for the English international and the player could be a United star by the time the Euros end next month.

Dortmund and United are slightly off in their valuations of Sancho

According to the report, United are willing to offer Sancho wages as high as £275,000-a-week. This will make him one of the best-paid players at the club.

This will also take Sancho above Bruno Fernandes in the United pay bracket. The Portuguese has been arguably our best player since last January and it remains to be seen if this will impact his standing at the club. Only veteran goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielder Paul Pogba will outearn Sancho at the club provided the numbers are real.

Sancho is among the best young players in the world

Currently with the England squad at the Euros, the 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Three Lions. Hopefully, he will end the tournament in high spirits and join United ahead of a promising 2021/22 season.

It was revealed by Fabrizio Romano earlier this month that Dortmund are seeking a fee of €95m for Sancho’s services. With our second offer now coming to around €90m, there isn’t much that is keeping us from reaching an agreement.

The ball is in United’s court and it remains to be seen if they will meet Dortmund’s asking price.
