Manchester United seeking £68.8m for French ace Paul Pogba
According to Italian publication lI Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro), Manchester United have placed a £68.8m price tag on French international Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman is set to enter the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and his future is nowhere near to being resolved. There exists the possibility that he could walk away for free next year. That would be unthinkable for United who paid a club-record fee to land the player five years ago.
Perhaps reluctantly United could choose to cash in on the player this summer. The 28-year-old has attracted attention from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona. (h/t Metro)
According to the report, Juventus have been taken aback by United’s valuation of the player. Whether it will prompt them to make a bid this summer or wait to grab him on a free next year remains to be seen.
The chances of offloading him to Real Madrid also took a hit following the departure of Zinedine Zidane. With the French legend no more in charge, Los Blancos are now focusing their attention elsewhere. (h/t The Express)
United, for all their efforts, do not hold the upper hand when it comes to negotiations. This will not be lost on Mino Raiola who has already reached out to Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential deal. As things stand, the Red Devils will be lucky to get the price they are seeking. (h/t Mirror)
There is a sense of deja vu given the predicament surrounding Pogba. The player came through the United academy before departing the club for Juventus in acrimonious circumstances in 2012.

Pogba commands wages of around £290,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams and could demand around £400,000-a-week if he leaves on a free transfer, as well as earning a huge signing-on fee. This is often the scenario where his agent Mino Raiola thrives in. After all, there is no love lost between the superagent and United either.
