Transfer News: Boost for Manchester United as Villarreal prepare for Pau Torres exit
According to transfer news from TEAMtalk, Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Pau Torres. Villarreal have seeming started making replacement signings like Aissa Mandi and signed Juan Foyth on a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old is coming off an excellent season that ended with him helping them beat us in the Europa League final. Now with the Spanish squad for the Euros, Torres has seen his star rise in recent months.
United, on their part, are looking to strengthen the side and want three new signings. The Red Devils are keen to bring in a defender and have identified the 24-year-old as one of their targets. Being left-footed, he is seen as the ideal foil to Maguire ahead of Lindelof and Bailly.
Now, though, it appears as if Pau Torres is likely to head out from Villarreal. The Spanish side are signing players who can replace the Spaniard. Firstly, they made Juan Foyth’s loan deal into a permanent one. Then they signed Aissa Mandi on a free transfer. Those additions have prompted that Villarreal would be willing to sell Torres but only for his £43m release clause.

While those signings could mean a lot of things, it’s hard not to see Torres leaving after that. He is capping off a spectacular season and has a chance to achieve more with Spain at the Euros. Whatever Villarreal might be doing, United need to be clear in their motive and sign him.
